Now in its ninth year, Lechlade Festival returns over the bank holiday weekend from 24th to 26th May.
Jam-packed with over 100 performers, the festival will see Ivor Novello award-winning and Brit Award-nominated band The Feeling headlining.
The Feeling burst onto the British pop scene in 2005 and enjoyed a string of Top 10 hits, including ‘Fill My Little World’, ‘Love it When You Call’ and ‘Never Be Lonely’. The band will be playing these and more from their 'Twelve Stops and Home' album which was recently reissued celebrating its twelfth anniversary.
They are supported on Sunday night by Rob Heron and The Tea Pad Orchestra, described as a swing-honkytonk-rockabilly band.
“Expect boogaloo, ragtime hokum, country blues and more with influences from Bob Wills to Django Reinhardt, George Jones to Tom Waits,” said Festival Director Jennie Rainsford.
“We can’t wait to see these guys on stage. It’s a growing genre, fusing exciting and energetic music styles from yesteryear with a contemporary twist.”
Saturday night sees the return of ‘That 80s Rock Show’, performing 80s stadium rock anthems and power ballads with larger than life characters.Friday night is once again dedicated to tribute bands with the Marley Experience, Tasha Leaper as Madonna and Faux Fighters heading the line-up.
Last year’s event attracted record numbers with over 6,500 festival-goers enjoying a sunny weekend in the Riverside Country Park alongside the River Thames at Lechlade. This year’s festival promises to be bigger and better, whilst sticking firmly to the festival’s roots as a family friendly event, with comedy, camping, boutique glamping, dance and craft workshops, circus skills tent, burlesque and more.
Children 16 and under go free, whether camping or visiting for the day, with Early Bird Tickets available until 31st March, with extra discounts for locals.
