Ugly Kid Joe had a UK top 10 hit with 'Everything About You' and their cover of 'Cat's in the Cradle'The heavy rock and metal music festival ‘Amplified’, will once again be bringing bands from all over the world to the Cotswold hills.
The festival was set up by former Cheltenham bar owner Gary Paterson in 2017.
Now with two years of experience of hosting such a huge event, he’s confident the 2019 edition will be the biggest and best yet, as he reveals their final headliner.
He said: “We thought it only right to continue the tradition of giving our audience the chance to sing along with the songs from their youth.
“Songs that still enthral and engage the youth of today – that is the joy of timeless classic rock tunes. They forever bring back memories, forge new ones, as well as bring life affirming friendships along the way!
“Amplified are extremely honoured to announce that ‘Ugly Kid Joe’ will be joining us here in the fields of Gloucestershire.”
‘Ugly Kid Joe’ are one of the most successful hard rock groups of the nineties, with their debut album ‘America’s Least Wanted’ going double platinum in the US and Australia.
They are the final headliner to be announced to be playing Amplified’s main stage, alongside Ukrainian metalcore band ‘Jinjer’ and American metal band ‘Mushroomhead’.
2019 also sees the festival’s first ever Battle of the Bands, where 48 bands are competing to claim just three spots on the line-up.
Members of the public will decide who wins, initially via an online vote to whittle the bands down to 12 finalists, who will then perform at three showcase events to decide the winners.
The festival takes place from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st January at Quarrydowns, between Northleach and Aldworth.
Gary added: “There are just over six months until the gates swing open to yet another Amplified so we will be keeping a very close eye on the weather reports that's for sure!
“It goes without saying we can’t wait to welcome each and every one of you like the friends you’ve become with a smile, a helping hand with your tents and a well-deserved cold beverage.”Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
