Jitter are back at Café René
Gloucester > Entertainment > Music

Jitter, one of the best tribute bands in the South-West, will be playing their favourite venue this Friday – Café René in Gloucester.
The talented trio will be back for a fifth time at Café René, where they will be playing songs from bands such as Nirvana, Pulp and Placebo, plus many others from the 1990s rock era.
Drummer Owen Roscoe says the opportunity to play at one of Gloucestershire’s most vibrant live music venues is always one of the highlights of the year for his band.
He said: “Café René is our favourite place to play. It’ll be our fifth time playing there, the previous four have been a lot of fun. In terms of audience participation there’s nowhere better. Seeing people enjoying what we do gives us all a huge buzz.”
Owen is joined in the band by Garry Risdale (guitarist & lead vocalist) and Tom Blockley (bass). They’ve been together for just over two years, and, as Owen explains, it was a rather unique gig that started things off.
He continued: “The three of us in the band used to play with two other guys in a band. The singer from our old band went travelling and we formed a covers band called Jitter for his leaving party. Off the back of that we decided to keep Jitter going and here we are!
“Even though we’re a covers band we’re not at all interested in doing songs that have been done to death, we enjoy performing plenty of the lesser known songs from bands we grew up listening to.
“I grew up listening to rock bands in the 1990s. There were so many top bands around at that time. There’s a definite audience for what we do, people enjoy listening to us. We rehearse at least once a week. We try and play as many venues as we can here in the South-West.
“All three of us enjoy playing together, we rehearse every week and are out playing most weekends. Live performances are what we live for, we all love getting on stage and doing what we love best.”Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
