Jazzy Heath says her gig at the Frog & Fiddle this Sunday will be a great opportunity for her to perform some of her new material.

The University of Gloucestershire graduate will be performing at one of her favourite venues this Sunday as part of the Frog & Fiddle’s annual ‘FrogFest’ event.

“I can’t wait to be back in Cheltenham,” she said. Jazzy continued: “I’ve played at the Frog & Fiddle loads of times during my three years at university, it’s a great venue and I’m excited to be performing alongside all the other fantastically talented bands and artists.

“I’ve been rehearsing and trying to get a set list that’s a mix of my new songs and some of my old stuff. I’m so excited to be performing my new songs because I haven’t had the opportunity to sing them in public yet.

Jazzy, who hails from the Isle of Wight, has performed at a number of prestigious music festivals, including being part of Fatboy Slim’s backing choir at Bestival. Earlier this year she took to the stage at the Wychwood Festival in Cheltenham to perform one of her last gigs alongside her university friends.

Jazzy said: “Wychwood was a lot of fun. The thing I love about Wychwood is that’s it’s one of the first festivals of the year, it always feels like it’s a nice way to start the summer. It was one of the last times that my friends and I performed together before we graduated. It was a special performance, one that I’ll remember for a very long time.”

Since graduating Jazzy has centred her attention on producing her new album, which she admits has taken up most of her spare time.

She continued: “I’ve been working on my new album all summer. It’s been so nice to dedicate all my spare time into producing something I can be proud of. I’ve spent countless hours on my computer, writing lyrics and producing the record. I’m aiming for the album to be finished by November and then to be released some time before Christmas.

“I look back with so many great memories from my time at the University of Gloucestershire. I learned so much, not just about music but also about people and myself. University really taught me how to be the best version of myself.”

After the album is released Jazzy will be flying to the other side of the world to continue her musical journey.

She added: “I’m going out to Japan for six months. I fly out in January which I’m very excited about. I want to explore the culture and learn the language and really immerse myself in a new country.

“I’ve spent my whole life on the Isle of Wight or in Cheltenham, so I want to do something a bit crazy! I’m sure I’ll meet lots of amazing people and get the chance to perform at lots of great venues. It’s a great opportunity for me, I can’t wait to get out there.”
