Michaela & Berny have enjoyed a breakthrough year Michaela & Berny have enjoyed a breakthrough year

Earlier this year Michaela Mott and Berny Poulton fulfilled a lifelong dream by signing a record contract. The pair, who have been performing together for five years, were signed to Swindon-based record label Crescent Records. Since signing that deal the pair have enjoyed a busy summer, including performing at the Wychwood Festival as well as recording a video for their single ‘Real Love’. “2018 has been a real whirlwind year for us” said Berny.

“We signed the record deal in late spring and since then we’ve been performing as often as we can. The Wychwood Festival was every bit as good as we thought it would be. The crowds were fantastic, it was such a thrill to be a part of what’s such a fun festival. We played some of our new tracks, that went down well. It was a great experience, we’re already looking forward to next year,” he added.

The pair recently recorded their first music video at the Crescent Records’ studio. Michaela continued: “We recorded it in 4K which is the highest quality resolution. Recording a video is one of the great things about being signed to a label, we’d never have been able to arrange it without the support of Crescent Records. It was an emotional day, the song means a hell of a lot to both of us so we hope people enjoy it.”

The pair will be performing all over the country in September, as they look to expand their ever- increasing fan base. Michaela added: “September is a very busy month for us. We’re supporting John Otway which is something we’re both very excited about. John’s enjoyed a long career in the music industry, he’s certainly someone we both look up to. We’re also playing gigs in London, Bath, Oxford and Swindon among others so it’s exciting times. We adore getting on stage and putting our heart and soul into every performance. Every single song we’ve written means so much to us, we write music that comes from the heart. There’s no better feeling than hearing feedback from people who say they’ve been able to relate to something we’ve written about.”

The duo are fiercely ambitious and say their hopes for the future revolve around performing and recording. Michaela said: “Writing and performing our own music is a dream. We both love getting on stage and putting our heart and soul into every performance. I’ve always had a desire to perform at the Royal Albert Hall, maybe one day we’ll be lucky enough to grace the stage there!”
