The Castle Combe Circuit in Chippenham will once again play host to ‘Supercar Saturday’, an event held to raise money for the Stroke Association charity.
On Saturday 27th October petrolheads of all ages are in for a treat as drivers from all over the country converge on the famous motorsport circuit, all in aid of a good cause.
Events manager Amy Spencer said: “This is the 27th year we’ve done this event and it’s a brilliant way of helping stroke survivors, and also to promote motorsport. There’ll be 50-60 cars and they’re all donated by experienced drivers who then take the passengers around the course.”
Entry to the circuit is just £5, with children under the age of 16 going for free. Rides around the course are available for everyone aged 12 and over. Prices begin at £25, and can vary depending on what car you’d like to go in, but for £30 you can go for a lucky dip ticket, which gives you access to the next available car.
Even if you don’t fancy speeding around the track, there’s plenty more things on offer.
Amy continued: “In the paddock will be various car clubs showing off their cars and the Bristol Motor Club run an Autosolo challenge. The charity Stand Against Speed for Bethany and Wessex 4x4 will be bringing little cars that children can drive so there is lots going on. It’s one of my favourite events that we do.”
The money raised from the day will go to the charity Stroke Association, and last year the event managed to raise around £14,500, which helped to fund important work.
“We work on three areas at the charity – research, campaigning and support. We’ve got a free helpline and a free app for anyone who needs to get in touch.”
