On Saturday 6th April Over Farm, near Gloucester, will be holding a comedy night, in association with Scallywags Comedy.

The night has been organised by local comedian and founder of Scallywags, Jon Wagstaffe, who explains what will be in store.

He said: “It’s a full pro night headlined by character act Barbara Nice who’s played by Janice Connolly (she played Holy Mary on Phoenix Nights) and is tipped for success on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent. Her set is best described as bonkers and totally original.

“Opening the show we have multi award winning Musical Comedian Tom Taylor with Brummie act Freddie Farrell and Bristolian Laura Ollerton making up the middle.

“It’s a mixed bag of comedy and I think we’ve got something for every taste.”

Jon, who has lived in Tewkesbury all his life and has been performing on the UK comedy circuit for almost a decade, will be master of ceremonies on the night.

“I’m a sought-after MC and I really enjoy it,” he continued.

“When you do a set it’s pretty straight forward but as an MC you have to think on your feet and that’s what I love as literally anything can happen. It’s probably harder but has the biggest reward.”

And for both Jon and those performing the barn at Over Farm will certainly be a new experience.

He added: “I’ve never performed at Over Farm and this is also a first for them.

“But it has such a great reputation I can’t wait to get started.”
