Up-and-coming Gloucester Athletic Club runner Anthony Cruise enjoyed a fine Gloucester 10K yesterday.

The teenager, who has just competed his A-levels, finished third in a time of 34 minutes, 29 seconds.

And not far behind was his younger brother Joe, who completed in 38.20, which saw him cross the line in 24th.

“They are both really good athletes,” said Gloucester AC press officer Chris Nield. “They’re both brilliant runners.

“Anthony had a great run. He’s been running with the club for quite a few years, he’s a great lad, they’re a really nice family.”

The race was won by former Gloucester AC runner Ben Robinson, who is now with Bristol and West.

He stormed home in 31.05, more than two minutes ahead of second-placed Charles Worsfold.

Worsfold, who has recently left Gloucester AC for Western Tempo, went round in 33.11.

Meanwhile Gloucester AC runner Mike Hall, who The Local Answer spoke to in the build-up to the race, finished in 37.40, which was a personal best.
