Charlie Worsfold celebrates back-to-back wins in the Dursley Dozen
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Monday, 16th February 2026, 12:00
Charlie Worsfold stormed to an impressive win in the Dursley Dozen yesterday.
The 20-year-old, who lives in Uley, finished almost two minutes clear of the rest of the field, completing the 12-mile course in one hour, 24 minutes, 12 seconds.
That was slightly slower than his winning time in 2025 but race director Anna Jameson said: “He dominated the race, he’s a very good runner.
“Nobody got near him last year and nobody got near him this year, he’s consistently good.”
The race is organised by Dursley Running Club and Jameson added: “What was really nice was that this year he won it in a Dursley running vest.”
Worsfold, who won last year’s race in a Gloucester Athletic Club vest, runs for Western Tempo - Dursley are his second claim club - and he was well clear of second-placed Richard Pearcy in 1.26.04.The one-time King's School, Gloucester, pupil was pleased with his run.
"It was a good one," he said. "The course was a bit muddier than last year."
Worsfold's 22-year-old brother Joel and dad Martin and also took part in the race, completing in 1.47.14 and 2.17.37 respectively.
“The course was extremely muddy, we had a lot of rain,” added Jameson. “But that’s part of it, everybody knew what to expect.
“It’s a very tough race, a real challenge.”
Anne Kenchington was the first female home in 1.35.01. She was 19th overall in a field of more than 500.“It was a really good day,” said Jameson. “Really enjoyable, everybody had a good time.”
