Entries are filling up fast for Cirencester Athletics Club’s Chedworth Roman Trail Race in April
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Wednesday, 6th February 2019, 13:00
One of the great things about running is that there are so many different reasons why people do it.
Cirencester Athletics Club publicity officer Liza Darroch says that every member will give you a different answer but these will include “to get fit”, “to get out and about in beautiful countryside”, “to help with pressures and stress”, “to meet and make friends” and last but not least “to eat cake”.
Neatly combining at least three of these is the club’s own Chedworth Roman Trail Race. It provides 10 miles of great running through stunning countryside ending with the best selection of cakes you’ll ever find!
Taking place on 14th April, it is filling up fast on EntryCentral. Entries are also open for the club’s Summer Sizzler, which is run in the traffic-free confines of the lovely Cirencester Park on the evening of Wednesday 12th June, with a Junior Race starting at 6.30 pm.
And for those more interested in the social aspect of running, a group with links to the club leaves the leisure centre in Cirencester at 9am every Thursday morning.
They run a variety of distances between five and 10 miles on a mixture of road and trails before returning for coffee – and frequently cake! – at the leisure centre.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
