Wins for Matson, Old Centralians, Cheltenham and Old Patesians 2nds in last night’s Combination cup games

The North Gloucestershire Combination’s cup finals day at Kingsholm has been moved forward 24 hours to Saturday 11th MayMatson will play Old Centralians in the final of this season’s North Gloucestershire Combination Senior Cup.
Matson’s flagship team, who are hoping to make it a May cup final double – they travel to play Old Colfeians in the semi-final of the RFU Intermediate Cup on Saturday – overcame Coney Hill 41-0.
Senior Cup holders Old Cents defeated Brockworth 54-25.
Matson and Old Cents will meet in the final at Kingsholm on Saturday 11th May which is 24 hours earlier than previously scheduled.
North Gloucestershire Combination treasurer Andy Payne said the change had been made “due to unforeseen circumstances”.
The Combination’s two other cup finals will also take place at Kingsholm on 11th May.
Last night’s results: Matson 41 Coney Hill 0; Old Centralians 54 Brockworth 25.
Meanwhile, Old Patesians 2nds will play Cheltenham in the final of the Cheltenham Combination Senior Cup.
The Pats defeated Cheltenham North 16-15 at Everest Road thanks to a last-gasp try by wing Doug Simpson, who took a pass from the experienced Gethin Evans to score in the corner.
And there were plenty of tries in the game at Cheltenham Saracens where Cheltenham left with a 51-41 win.
The final is at Newlands on Saturday 27th April.
