Twickenham treble is the target for all-conquering Cheltenham Tigers Women

All-conquering Cheltenham Tigers Women are closing in on another milestone.
Victory over Sheffield Women at The Newlands on Saturday will see them finish top of Championship 1 North for the second successive season and the third time in four years.
They will go into the game three points clear of Lichfield Ladies, who have just one game to play in the 10-strong division.
And unbeaten Cheltenham, who have won 15 and drawn one of their 16 league games this season – they beat Barnsley Ladies 63-17 on Saturday - will certainly be strong favourites against a side who have lost all 15 of their matches in 2024/25.
The top two in the North division – Buckingham Swans Ladies trail Lichfield by six points with two games to play – will go into the end-of-season play-offs with the top two from Championship 1 South, with the top team from each playing the second-placed team from the other division.
Old Albanian Saints and Richmond FC Women are guaranteed to finish in the top two in the South division with Old Albanian Saints leading Richmond by two points. Both have one game to play.
“It’s likely we’ll be playing Richmond at home in the play-off but you never know for sure,” said Cheltenham head coach Bee Mocellin.
That game will take place on Easter Sunday (20th April) with the play-off final at Twickenham on Sunday 18th May.
Cheltenham have won the play-off final for the past three years – the last two finals have been at Twickenham – and outside the professional game they have proved they are the best in the country.
“We’re very proud,” added Mocellin. “We’re trying to build a good legacy.”Copyright © 2025 The Local Answer Limited.
