Sir Thomas Rich’s School proud of their ‘fantastic’ rugby fixture list
Gloucester > Sport > Rugby Union

A new term means new opportunities for the pupils at Sir Thomas Rich’s School in Longlevens and that’s certainly true for those who play rugby.
The school are rightly proud of their fixture list – the first round of matches were against Bristol Grammar School on Saturday – and there is a packed programme which takes them all the way into February of next term.
“Our rugby programme continues to be better than ever,” Chris Carter, who is deputy head and director of sport, told The Local Answer earlier this month. “We’ve just come back from an under-17 tour to South Africa and we’re looking to have another good season. We’ve got a fantastic fixture list which includes games against Millfield, Bromsgrove, Warwick, Llandovery and Clifton College.”
The school play Clifton College this Saturday and the big games will certainly come thick and fast over the coming weeks and months.
The tour to South Africa was a huge success – 47 players and six staff were involved – and the school are already in the early stages of planning for the 2021 tour.
“We’ve been to Australia three times, New Zealand once and South Africa three times,” added Chris Carter.
