Natasha Hunt signs for Gloucester-Hartpury
Gloucester > Sport > Rugby Union
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Thursday, 20th December 2018, 12:30
Gloucester-Hartpury are delighted to announce that they have signed scrum-half Natasha 'Mo' Hunt.
Mo, as she’s known around the world of rugby, needs very little introduction. A World Cup winner with England in 2014, she also represented Great Britain at Sevens at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Capped numerous times at both 7s and 15s level by England, her experience will be crucial to Gloucester-Hartpury in the second half of the season.
It’s also something of a homecoming. Born in Gloucester, she spent some of her formative years at Hartpury College.
Gloucester-Hartpury head coach Susie Appleby was happy to confirm the signing this week.
"We’re thrilled that Mo has decided to come and join us,” she said. “It speaks volumes of the strides that we have made as a club, that players of her calibre want to be part of what we’re trying to achieve.
"We have a talented group, but it's also a very young group and we’re learning and developing all the time. To add someone of Mo’s talent and experience will be incredibly beneficial."
And Hunt admitted that she can’t wait to get involved in a tournament which has come and leaps and bounds over the past two seasons.
"In the two years I’ve been away, the game has come on so much. Every game is competitive, you’re seeing high-scoring games and running rugby and the standard seems to have shot up. I’m really looking forward to taking part.
"I can’t wait to pull on the Gloucester-Hartpury shirt. I’m actually beaming about it and I didn’t think I’d feel quite so excited. It wasn’t an easy decision to arrive at, but I’m genuinely so content with my decision and really, really looking forward to getting on the pitch with the girls now."Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
