Gloucester scrum-half Callum Braley has been invited to train with Italy ahead of the return to Guinness Six Nations action next week.
Braley, who represented England at under-20 level, captaining the side during two victorious World Rugby Under-20 Championships, qualifies for Italy through his grandfather, and will link up with Conor O’Shea’s Azzurri side at the beginning of next week as part of a 33-man training squad in Rome.
Head coach Conor O’Shea has been keeping tabs on Braley’s progress in a Cherry and White jersey, and has invited him to link up with the training squad ahead of the home game with Ireland on Sunday 24th February.
Scrum-half Tito Tebaldi picked up an injury before Italy’s reverse in Edinburgh to Scotland in round one, leading to O’Shea inviting Braley to train with the Azzurri group.
