Brockworth Ladies player Beth Weller hoping to tour South Africa with England Deaf squad

Beth Weller loves rugby and she’s a pretty good player too.
So much so that the 27-year-old is hoping to be part of the England Deaf squad that will be heading to South Africa for a 10-day tour in May 2020.
Beth, who is predominantly a scrum-half, is currently playing for Brockworth Ladies, although she missed the whole of 2018/19 after having surgery last September.
If Beth earns selection – an England Deaf men’s team is also heading for South Africa at the same time – she will be based in Pretoria where all the games will be played.
“After a season out with surgery, I'm excited to be back in the fold,” said Beth, who is looking for sponsorship to help with transport and accommodation costs in South Africa.
“This will be England Deaf's most ambitious tour to date with several exciting fixtures planned, I'm looking forward to fighting for a spot in the matchday 23.”
Beth is fundraising through GofundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/f/8ttee-england-deaf-tour-to-south-africa-2020 and she added: “Any assistance that can be provided will be greatly appreciated.”Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
