Last year’s treble winners Old Centralians have been handed three home ties in this season’s three North Gloucestershire Rugby Combination cup competitions.
Their flagship team, who are leading the way in South West One East this season, have a home game against Hucclecote Old Boys, from Gloucestershire Premier, while their 2nd and 3rd teams host Old Richians and Chosen Hill in the Junior Cup and Glanville Cup respectively.
Matson, who were beaten in all three finals at Kingsholm last May, begin their Senior Cup challenge at Longlevens, while their 2nd team have a bye into the quarter-finals. Their third team travel to Old Cryptians for a quarter-final tie.
The Senior Cup has certainly thrown up a couple of interesting ties with two of this season’s form teams meeting at Chosen Hill where Old Cryptians will be the visitors.
Chosen Hill have won 15 out of 15 in Gloucestershire Premier while Old Cryptians are way out in front in Gloucestershire One having won 13 and drawn one of their 15 matches.
And another team in imperious form this season – Brockworth – also have a home tie in the flagship competition.
The Gloucestershire Two North club, who reached the last four of the Senior Cup last season and have won all 11 of their league games in 2019/20, host Spartans, from Western Counties North.
The first round matches get under way on Tuesday 31st March with the Senior Cup ties. The Junior Cup ties will be played the following evening with the one first round tie in the Glanville Cup – Widden Old Boys v Spartans - taking place on Thursday 2nd April.
The quarter-finals of the Senior Cup will be played on Tuesday 7th April, with the Junior Cup games taking place a day later and the Glanville Cup ties on the Thursday of the same week.
All three finals will be played at Kingsholm on Sunday 3rd May.
