Gloucestershire RFU’s end-of-season festivals are a big success

Minchinhampton Under-7s Minchinhampton Under-7s

Six rugby festivals saw youngsters running for fun where the winners were the great game of rugby itself.

The festivals were organised by the Gloucestershire RFU for under-7s through to under-12s and took place all over the county.

Gloucester rugby players Lloyd Evans were at the under-7 festival at Painswick where Minchinhampton won the Fair Play award.

Old Cryptians hosted the under-8 festival and there was double cause for celebration because they also won the Fair Play award.

Minchinhampton took the honours at the under-9 festival, hosted by Dursley, while Cheltenham Tigers took the under-10 Play Fair award, a festival that took place at Clifton.

Cleve won the award at the under-11 festival, which was hosted by Stow-on-the-Wold, while the under-12 award was won by Bredon Star.

That festival took place at Drybrook and looking on was former Gloucester star Terry Fanolua who was joined by current Gloucester player Ruan Dreyer.
