Stroud and Chosen Hill Former Pupils told they must play final Western Counties North game on Saturday 20th April

Stroud and Chosen Hill Former Pupils have been told that they must play their outstanding Western Counties North fixture on Saturday 20th April.
The new date has been confirmed by Western Counties North league secretary Mike Thomas.
The original game at Fromehall Park on 29th September was abandoned after 45 minutes because of fighting.
The two teams have met subsequently – Stroud won 37-33 at Chosen Hill in mid-January – and the game on Easter Saturday could have plenty riding on it for Chosen Hill, who are battling to avoid relegation.
That would depend on how they get on at home to Matson on Saturday though, a game they really have to win.
Three teams are relegated from Western Counties North – Wells are already down – and Chosen Hill, 13th in the 14-strong division, certainly have a mountain to climb even though the other two places are still up for grabs.
The situation is complicated for Chosen Hill by the fact that the two teams immediately above them – Cheltenham and Old Richians – meet at Newlands and certainly a win for the home side would go a long way to securing Cheltenham’s survival in the division.
Clevedon and Barton Hill still aren’t quite safe – Barton Hill host fourth-placed Stroud on Saturday while Clevedon travel to mid-table Gordano.
Chosen Hill will be hoping that Stroud can do them a favour at Barton Hill while also hoping that third-placed Matson have one eye on their FRU Intermediate Cup semi-final at Old Colfeians on 20th April when they come to Fromehall Park on Saturday.
But if Chosen Hill can overcome Matson and other results go their way, it would set up a real nail-biter at Stroud a week later.
Bottom six in Western Counties North: 9th, Clevedon (played 25, points 56); 10th, Barton Hill (25, 53); 11th Cheltenham (25, 51); 12th, Old Richians (25, 48); 13th, Chosen Hill FP (24, 47); 14th, Wells (25, 22).Key fixtures, Saturday 13th April: Barton Hill v Stroud; Cheltenham v Old Richians; Chosen Hill FP v Matson; Clevedon v Gordano. Saturday 20th April: Stroud v Chosen Hill FP.
