Matson and Old Centralians set up a North Gloucestershire Combination cup final treble challenge at Kingsholm

Kingsholm will host the North Gloucestershire Combination’s cup finals day on Saturday 11th May

Matson and Old Centralians will meet not once, not twice, but three times at Kingsholm next month.

The two powerhouse clubs made it a clean sweep in this season’s North Gloucestershire Combination cup competition when they won their Junior Cup semi-final ties last night.

The two clubs were already through to the finals of the Senior Cup and Glanville Cup.

Matson went to Gordon League last night and won 29-3 while Old Centralians were pushed hard by visitors Coney Hill before pulling through 15-10.

All three finals will take place at Kingsholm on Saturday 11th May with the Glanville Cup final kicking off a great day of rugby at 11am.

The Junior Cup final will start at 2pm with the showpiece Senior Cup final getting under way at 5pm.

Before then the clubs’ two flagship teams have very important dates, of course, with Old Centralians heading to Launceston for a South West One East/West play-off with the winners playing in South West Premier next season.

Matson, meanwhile, head to Twickenham a week on Sunday for the biggest game in their 62-year history when they take on Kenilworth in the final of the RFU Intermediate Cup.
