Gloucester to start new Premiership season at home to Exeter

Gloucester will kick off the new Aviva Premiership campaign at home to Exeter Chiefs on Friday 1st September.
The game will kick off at 7.45pm and has been switched to the Friday because the game will be televised by BT Sport.
Such is the ongoing appeal of the Cherry and Whites that three of their first four fixtures will be covered by the TV company.
They will also cover the games at Leicester on Saturday 16th September and the game against Worcester Warriors at Kingsholm, which will be played on Friday 22nd September (7.45pm).
The first Saturday game at Kingsholm won’t take place until October 7th when Northampton are the visitors (3pm) but Gloucester’s next two league fixtures will also be live on TV.
They are the games at Bath on Sunday October 29th (3pm) and the home game against Saracens the following week. That Kingsholm clash will again take place on a Friday – November 17th – with a 7.45pm kick-off.
Gloucester travel to Wasps on the final weekend before Christmas and will host Sale just before the new year.
They have a couple of tough fixtures to finish the campaign – at home to Bath at the end of April and away to Saracens on the first weekend in May.
Gloucester chief executive Stephen Vaughan said: “It’s always good to know who we’ll be up against first and it doesn’t get any more exciting than opening up at home against Exeter.
“Games against the Chiefs always seem to be hard-fought, close-run affairs and it’s a great way to kick off the season.
“A Friday night game under the lights at Kingsholm will be a magnificent spectacle to start the Aviva Premiership season, and I’ve no doubt that our fantastic supporters will turn out in force to roar us on.”Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
