Next year’s Wayne Barnes charity match at Lydney Rugby Club has been scheduled for Sunday 6th May.
It will again coincide with the first bank holiday weekend of the month.

Organisers of the annual event – next year’s game will be the fifth time it has taken place – were overwhelmed by the near 2,000 crowd that flocked to Regentsholme on 30th April.
They helped to raise more than £15,000 for the charity Breast Cancer Now.

Dave Emery, the schoolboy friend of international referee Barnes, said: “It was a great day and we definitely wanted to hold it on the bank holiday weekend again.”
England head coach Eddie Jones’ presence at the ground certainly helped to swell the numbers and he looked on as a Wayne Barnes Invitational XV defeated a Foresters Invitational XV, organised by Emery, 71-57.
