It could get emotional on day three of the Cheltenham Festival because Faugheen is tipped to win the Sun Racing Stayers’ Hurdle at 3.30pm.
Mike Edwards, The Local Answer’s racing tipster, believes the Willie Mullins-trained star, who won the Champion Hurdle in 2015, can be the star turn again at Prestbury Park.
Edwards said: “He’s 11 years old now but still retains his class, there won’t be a dry eye in the house when he wins!”
Mike Edwards’ other top tips on day three
1.30pm: Defi Du Seuil – A Triumph Hurdle winner, won a Grade 1 in February, highly fancied!
2.10pm: Walk to Freedom – Has a big weight that he can defy, good recent 2nd in Leopardstown qualifier, fresh and ready to return the faith in him.
2.50pm: Monalee – Won recent prep race in Ireland, ready to fight for his life.
3.30pm: Faugheen – Old favourite, Champion Hurdle winner, 11 years old now but still retains his class, not a dry eye in the house when he wins!
4.10pm: Janika – Has top form on heavy ground winning 3 times at Auteil, loves the mud! Expected to fight out the finish with Siruh Du Lac. NAP SELECTION
4.50pm: Posh Trish – Nice young horse brought on slowly by master trainer Paul Nicholls, won 4 of his last 5 races over hurdles including a listed event in December, impressive form.
5.30: Measureofmydreams – The top amateur rider on board and from Gordon Elliott's yard, very well treated on old form, a fresh horse, with high expectations in this race.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
