All Areas > Sport > Horse Racing
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Thursday, 14th March 2019, 15:00
Native River will be centre stage on the final day of the Cheltenham Festival tomorrow.
That’s the belief of Mike Edwards, The Local Answer’s racing tipster, who believes the Colin Tizzard-trained horse will triumph in the Cheltenham Gold Cup tomorrow just as he did last year.
Edwards said: “He was a very impressive Gold Cup winner in 2018, he’s as good a 3-mile chaser as you will see especially in these conditions. Very tough horse, will front run and grind them down!”
And Edwards certainly knows what he’s talking about because he tipped three winners on day two, as well as two second places, a third place and a fourth.
Mike Edwards’ top tips for day four of the Cheltenham Festival
1.30pm: Sir Erec – Very impressive winner of a top class group one at Leopardstown Festival, strongly fancied. NAP SELECTION
2.10pm: Whiskey Sour – Finished third in this race last year, the Willie Mullins-trained horse is fancied to go two better this time around.
2.50pm: Birchdale – Top class performance when winning here in January, looks a top class horse in the making, 3 runs and 3 wins.
3.30pm: Native River – Very impressive Gold Cup winner 2018, as good a 3-mile chaser as you will see especially in these conditions, very tough horse, will front run and grind them down!
4.10pm: Ucello Conti – Plenty of good handicap form, point and dual hunter chase winner this season. The top amateur rider on board!
4.50pm: Magic Saint – Another top young horse produced by the Paul Nicholls yard, won very impressively at Wincanton recently, strongly fancied.
5.30pm: Dallas des Pictons – This is your chance to get out on a winner. This horse has won twice on heavy ground in France, this term, top trainer, get your money on!Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
