Barry Geraghty can double up with Defi du Seuil in the Queen Mother Champion Chase

Defi du Seuil is the one to beat in the showcase race on day two of this year’s Cheltenham Festival.
That’s the view of The Local Answer’s tipster Mike Edwards who reckons the Philip Hobbs-trained horse can take the spoils in the Queen Mother Champion Chase in the absence of Altior, who has failed to recover from a splint problem.
And Defi du Seuil Has an in-form jockey on board because Barry Geraghty took the big race on day one of this year’s Festival, winning the Champion Hurdle in emphatic style on the Nicky Henderson-trained Epatante.
That was one of three winners selected by Mike Edwards, who also tipped Honeysuckle and Imperial Aura to win in the Mares’ Hurdle and Novices’ Handicap Chase respectively.
Mike Edwards’ day two tips at the Cheltenham Festival
1.30 – The Big Breakaway – Three wins out of three, has class written all over him.
2.10 – Copperhead – Completed a recent hat-trick of wins, Grade 2 Ascot win in February was impressive.
2.50 – Dame De Compagnie – Course and distance winner here in December. Lightly raced, has high expectations.
3.30 – Defi du Seuil – Won five of his last six races, a top class performer.
4.10 – Easysland – Course and distance winner here in December. Recently purchased by JP McManus for this race.
4.50 – Aramax – Lot of ante-post support, impressive winner in his prep race at Naas.
5.30 – Appreciate It – Impressive victory at the recent Leopardstown Festival, trainer Willie Mullins has won this race nine times and now hopes for a 10-timer! NAP SELECTIONCopyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
