It’s Festival Trials Day at Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday

Cheltenham Racecourse opens its doors for its final raceday before the Cheltenham Festival in March on Saturday.

It’s Festival Trials Day and there’s sure to be a large crowd at Prestbury Park to see seven cracking races on the card, including the Paddy Power Cotswold Chase, often considered a trial for the Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup, and the Galliardhomes.com Cleeve Hurdle which always produces key contenders for The Festival.

It’s always a big day on the racing calendar and last year saw three winners from Festival Trials Day go on to success at the Cheltenham Festival, including the formidable Frodon and Bryony Frost.

Paisley Park also won for trainer Emma Lavelle and owner Andrew Gemmell, who has been blind since birth, while Lizzie Kelly triumphed aboard Siruh Du Lac.

This year’s Cheltenham Festival runs from Tuesday 10th March to Friday 13th March.
