It could be a good day for the Irish on first day of The Showcase Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse

Day one of The Showcase Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse could see Irish eyes smiling.
That’s the view of Mike Edwards, The Local Answer’s racing tipster, who said: “It looks like a big day for the Irish raiders.”
The first day of the two-day meeting takes place tomorrow with the first race getting under way at 2pm.
Racing also starts at 2pm on Saturday when there will also be seven races.
Mike Edwards’ top tips for tomorrow
2pm: Doctor Duffy – Ridden by the master Davy Russell, recent impressive winner over 2m 6f at Navan – NAP
2.35pm: Getaway Trump – Impressive hurdler, this is his Chase debut
3.10pm: The Big Galloper – Highly fancied, well handicapped
3.45pm: Dinons – Course and distance winner – Davy Russell in top form
4.20pm: Fred – Nicky Henderson trained, well fancied
4.55pm: Plantagenet – Good reliable chaser, Gina Andrews on board, well fancied
