Get your money on Vintage Clouds in this year’s Grand National.
That’s the view of Mike Edwards, The Local Answer’s racing tipster, who is backing Sue Smith’s charge to triumph in the big race at Aintree which gets under way at 5.15pm on Saturday.
Trained in Yorkshire by Smith, whose husband is Harvey Smith, the former top showjumper, Vintage Clouds is owned by Trevor Hemmings, an owner of three previous Grand National winners.
Edwards said of his top tip: “Stays the trip, third in last year’s Scottish National and a good second in recent Ultima Chase.
“Likes heavy ground and it will be a stiff test in very soft ground.”
Mike Edwards’ top tips to follow Vintage Clouds home:
2nd: One For Arthur - “A previous winner, back to form.”
3rd: Tiger Roll - “Last year’s winner, will he go well in the heavy ground?”
4th: Ultragold - “At 50-1 my each-way tip. Won two Topham Chases and third in Becher Chase recently, no stranger to the huge Aintree fences. Will he stay 4 miles 2 furlongs?”
5th: General Principle - “This year’s Irish Grand National winner.”Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
