Jarveys Plate is being backed for a repeat show when he lines up at Cheltenham Racecourse tomorrow.
He is Mike Edwards’ NAP for Festival Trials Day and if he can follow up his success on the course on New Year’s Day he will certainly prove a very popular winner because he is trained by Fergal O’Brien in Guiting Power and owned by the Yes No Wait Sorries syndicate which is headed by Cheltenham-based Chris Coley.
He goes in the 2m 4f Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle at Prestbury Park and Edwards said: “He is an impressive winner over course and distance and is fancied to win again despite incurring a penalty!”
Mike Edwards’ top tips
12.40 Nelson River – Fair performer on the Flat. Course and distance winner, has won both of his starts over hurdles.
1.15pm – Azzerti – Recent winner over fences at Ascot, fancied to win again. Strongly fancied.
1.50pm Brelan D’as – A very useful hurdler, won recently at Haydock.
2.25pm Terrefort – Winner of two Grade 2 races last season, expected to go very well today.
3pm Jarveys Plate.
3.35pm Midnight Shadow – Travelled down from Sue Smith’s in form yard in Yorkshire, hopeful for another successful run here following recent success in – The Relkeel Hurdle.
4.10pm Flash The Steel – Recent Bumper winner, following this up with more success when winning on his handicap hurdle debut at Doncaster.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
