EarloftheCotswolds can bring the curtain down on this year’s two-day Showcase Meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse in style.
The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained horse is tipped to win the final race of the day at 5.30pm by Mike Edwards, having been “an impressive winner at Market Rasen last time out”.
Edwards’ NAP selection is the Gordon Elliott-trained Dinons in the Randox Health Novices’ Hurdle at 4.20pm. “A winner of the last four races, on top form,” said Edwards.
Shantou Village is tipped to win the first race the day at 2pm with Edwards saying of the Neil Mulholland-trained horse: “Following up a recent rousing run in the ‘Kerry National’, well-fancied to go well here!”
Top trainer Philip Hobbs is tipped to take the honours in the Masterson Holdings Hurdle at 2.35pm with Gumball.
“Philip Hobbs’ charge is receiving 8lb from the other leading contender Redican and that should be enough allowance to see him home,” said Edwards.
Edwards expects Bigmartre, who runs well first time “to be about at the finish” in the 3.10 while King Calvin has shown steady progress and could triumph in the 3.45pm.
And Edwards believes Movewiththetimes who showed “good form last season in novice chases and is well weighted” could win the 4.55pm, the penultimate race of the meeting.
