The weather was a good and the players responded in kind at the Naunton Downs Golf Club Ladies’ Section’s Invitation Day.

Forty ladies took part, with some travelling from as far afield as Kent, Surrey and Berkshire.

The ladies played in pairs with the best stableford score counting. There was some excellent golf played with no scores of less than 30 points.

Naunton’s Lindy Shurmer, partnered by Cass Wright from Sherdons, took the honours.

Results: 1 Lindy Shurmer (Naunton) and Cass Wright (Sherdons) 41 points; 2 Norma Shepherd (Naunton) and Elaine Fields (Stratford Oaks) 40; 3 Cherry Steadman (Naunton) and Sally Reay (Minchinhampton New).
