Cleeve Cloud Golf Club are shooting their own version of the magnificent seven.

While the 1960 classic film starring the likes of Yul Brynner, James Coburn, Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson was a huge box office hit back in the day, the top brass at Cleeve Cloud are hoping that they have discovered a winner of their own with the introduction of Express Golf at the course.

Express Golf is played over seven holes, which means a game of golf is played in less than half the time it normally takes. It is ideal for anyone who is short of time, recovering from an illness or not as fit as they would like.

The idea has been backed by Debbie Casling, who is the Gloucestershire Support Officer from England Golf.

A seven-hole introduction evening took place at the start of the month in brilliant sunshine with a golfer/non-golfer competition, which was won by Terry Wolfendale and his son Charlie.
