Nick Knowles will be cheered on by his sister Sheila Price when Strictly starts
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Thursday, 22nd August 2024, 13:00
TV personality Nick Knowles will have plenty of support in and around the Cotswolds when he competes in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The 61-year-old’s sister Sheila Price lives in Stow-on-the-Wold and she will be one of his many cheerleaders when the ever-popular BBC show gets under way in the next few weeks.
Sheila, who is 72, moved to the Cotswolds in the mid-noughties and ran Sheila Price Dance for many years.
The dance school is now run by her daughter Beccy Clark but Sheila still teaches part-time and certainly has no intention of giving up any time soon.
She may have to alter her schedule a little bit, however, if her brother makes an impact on Strictly.
When she spoke to The Local Answer she’d just had lunch with him and she said: “He’s looking forward to it.
“He was a bit concerned he may be too old but I said he’ll be fine, although he said he couldn’t get the hip wiggle quite right!
“I think he’ll do much better than he thinks.”
And Sheila is hoping he’ll do well enough to make it through to the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.
“I’d love to see him compete there,” added Sheila, who started dancing herself at the age of five.
“I think he’ll be good on the show because he’s quite forthright.
“He’s lost a bit of weight and he’s taking it quite seriously. He said to me, ‘Once I take something on I’m very committed to it’.”
Sheila is hoping that Knowles will pop in to one of her dance school sessions before Strictly gets under way.
The school teaches ballet, contemporary, modern, tap and musical theatre at locations in Upper Rissington, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Moreton-in-Marsh.Copyright © 2024 The Local Answer Limited.
