Frampton United had their shooting boots on as they hit a magnificent seven in a 7-2 GFA Challenge Trophy second round win at Newent Town.

United started well and scored after three minutes when a Nathan Dennis cross was put away by Manolo Marquez Espada.

A Tom Parnells cross on 27 minutes was finished off by Ryan Vincent and two minutes later Parnell hit the bottom corner to make it 3-0.

Newent had the chance to pull a goal three minutes later when Stuart Maule was floored in the box but Matt Cook hit his penalty wide.

Newent did pull a goal back on 46 minutes through Daryl Bayliss but two minutes later Vincent scored his second.

Frampton’s Manolo Marquez Espada netted his second before Newent got a second on 62 minutes with Bayliss heading home. Jonathan Lewis was then brought down in the penalty area and Vincent made no mistake from the spot to complete his hat-trick. Manolo followed suit by completing his hat-trick on 73 minutes.

Hardwicke are through to the next round after beating Roman Glass St George from the Toolstation League 2-1.

Hardwicke got a break just seven minutes into the game when Ben Harvey’s back pass fell short of keeper Josh Dempsey who pulled down Will Matthews as he tried to round him.

Matthews took the resultant penalty, Dempsey saved but Matthews following up and scored. The visitors hit back with a fine strike from Rahim Reahem before the break.

Hardwicke took the lead with a second penalty. Again, it was Dempsey who gave it away, pulling back Steve Bick as he tried to go round the keeper.

This time Paul Carter took the spot kick and netted to make it 2-1. Hardwicke then had a player sent off very late in the game and then gave away a penalty in the 92nd minute but keeper Chris Perks brought off a fantastic save to see Hardwicke through to the next round.

Ruardean Hill Rangers edged through to the third round on penalties after a 2-2 draw at Little Stoke. The home side had several early chances to take the lead but had to wait until the 44th minute when Luke Sperring sent Sam Hill away and his cross to the far post was knocked in by Dean Patterson.

Rangers levelled on 55 minutes from a long ball pumped up field by keeper Aaron Underwood that deceived the home defence and Luke Johnson ran through to score.

The visitors then took a 2-1 lead as Luke Brown rounded a couple of defenders before driving the ball past Amin Jones.

Sam Hill then hit the post for Stoke before the home side scored an equalising goal on 82 minutes with Sam Hill’s cross being knocked home by Nick Rugman at the near post. Rangers won the shootout 5-3.

Wick hosted Cirencester Town Development and went down by the odd goal in five.

Meanwhile, in the County League Gala Wilton won for the second week running as they defeated AEK Boco 2-1.

Gala went ahead on three minutes from a great cross into the box that Alex Pritchard raced onto before hammering home. Boco levelled on 24 minutes through Jason Thatcher but Gala grabbed the winner on 67 minutes.

A break and a good ball into the box was hit well by Mark Mason and it rebounded to Ryan Dobbins who drove home.
