CoadyCrew enjoy ‘amazing’ day at British Championships
Author: Roger Jackson, Posted: Tuesday, 16th May 2017, 12:10
Words like “brilliant” and “amazing” tripped off the tongue as the CoadyCrew returned with a sackful of trophies from the Great British Street Dance Championships in Watford.
The CoadyCrew – the competitive arm of Coady Dance Studios – let their feet do the talking as they produced a dazzling display.
“It was absolutely brilliant,” said Nikki Coady, who set up Coady Dance Studios 20 years ago. “It was an incredible achievement. We left at 5.45am from Hillview Community Centre in Hatherley and didn’t get back to Cheltenham until gone 10pm so it was a really long day.”
Angela Smith, the mum of nine-year-old Lucie Pickering who was part of the successful team, said: “I am bursting with pride at how well Lucie and her pair Emily [Scarrott] did coming third.
“We ended up on an absolute high with Toxic coming first in the group competition.
“What an amazing achievement. The girls smashed it and I was totally blown away.”
The Toxic group was made up of Emily Scarrott, Lucie Pickering, Bo Slender, Tayla-Jade Bowen, Alissiya Foster, Leah Pockett, Tabbitha Delve and Maddison Clarke.
Nikki also paid tribute to Toxic’s teacher, Keaton Pearce, who, she said, had been “amazing”.
