Cameron Green is set to make his Gloucestershire debut tomorrow

One of the biggest frames in the game is set to make his Gloucestershire debut tomorrow.

Cameron Green, the 6ft 6in Australian star, has been named by head coach Mark Alleyne in the county’s 15-strong squad for the County Championship Division Two game in Kent.

The 25-year-old is on the comeback trail after back surgery and he has signed to play in Gloucestershire’s next five four-day games.

He will play only as a batsman – he will bat in the middle order – with Alleyne telling The Local Answer before the start of the season: “He’s a quality cricketer working his way back, we’re hoping to see the best of him.

“He’s a good age and he’s got a good relationship with Cameron Bancroft.”

Gloucestershire are looking for their first win of the campaign after losing to Derbyshire at the start of the month and then being held to a draw by Glamorgan in Bristol after posting a big first innings total.

Green’s fellow Australian Bancroft scored a century in Gloucestershire’s only innings of the game against Glamorgan in what was his first game as captain.
