Bibury batsman Adeko Collymore is in the form of his life.

The 35-year-old smashed another century on Saturday – his fourth in five league games – as Bibury defeated Tormarton by 78 runs in Division 6B of the Gloucestershire Cricket League.

Batting at three, Collymore’s 130 in Bibury’s 303-9 came off just 84 balls, hitting 15 fours and five sixes.

His latest heroics follow centuries against Oakridge, Rockhampton and Oldlands and he's now scored a remarkable 580 runs for just twice out in the league in 2025.

“It’s unbelievable,” said Collymore, a project manager who is in his second season with the club.

“I used to play for Pickwick in Barbados, I played more as a bowling all-rounder back then.”

He bowls left-arm sharp although he was wicketless in his eight overs against Tormarton.

But it is obviously his batting that everybody is talking about after scores of 135 not out against Oakridge, 131 not out against Rockhampton and 167 not out against Oldlands, when he opened the batting, before his latest effort on Saturday.

“If it’s in the slot I’ll hit it,” added Collymore, who lives in Cheltenham. “I like to play in the V, I’ll hit it over mid-off, mid-on.”

He’s also very strong over cover and has obviously adapted his game to suit English conditions.

He scored around 960 runs in all competitions last season and he continued: “The pitches in England are a lot slower. The ball doesn’t get up as much as in the Caribbean.”

Saturday’s win was Bibury’s fourth of the campaign – their only defeat was against Eastcombe a couple of weeks ago when Collymore was dismissed for 17 – and they are pushing for back-to-back promotions.

“It’s a good club, there’s a good atmosphere,” added Collymore.

And while Collymore obviously enjoys it at Bibury, the club are clearly enjoying him as well.

Opening batsman Ali Carman, who set the tone on Saturday with a quickfire 35 off 20 balls, said of the right-handed Collymore: “He’s pretty handy!

“He’s going well, he did well for us last season but nothing like this. He likes to open up and smash it over cover.

“He’s very chilled, he’s a relaxing influence when you’re batting with him.”

Third-placed Bibury travel to seventh-placed Cirencester 2nds on Saturday and Collymore - his average dropped from 450 to 290 after the game against Tormarton! - said: “Hopefully I’ll get another hundred!”
