It’s the start of the summer holidays and whether you’re going away for your holiday, or staying at home, I hope you have a great time.
For those living in or visiting Gloucester, there is much to see and do in the coming months. Below is a round-up of some of the events scheduled this summer.
4th & 18th August – Civic Trust Roman Gloucester walking tours
From 10.30am at the Museum of Gloucester.
5th August – Shakespeare’s A Comedy of Errors
5.30-9.30pm at Barnwood Park and Arboretum.
5th & 6th August – Orchard Street Food & Craft Markets
10am-5pm daily.
6th August – Llanthony Open Day
Llanthony will open its doors to visitors.
6th August – Jamaican Independence Day
The annual celebration in Gloucester Park gets better every year. Music, dance, fabulous food and lots more to keep you entertained.
12th August – Gloucester Big Bang
4-11pm. An unforgettable summer celebration at Gloucester’s Big Bang Firework & Music Festival at Wall’s Club.
13th August – Peter Rabbit Outdoor Experience
A delightful new adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s much-loved Tales at Llanthony Secunda Priory.
20th August – Tea and Cake Cruise
2.30-4.30pm on the Queen Boadicea II from the National Waterways Museum.
25th August – Glorious Glevum Tour
Meet at the Museum of Gloucester at 11am and join the resident Roman soldier for a guided introduction to Roman Glevum.
26th August – Gloucester Goes Retro
A day of all things vintage and retro. With over 400 cars lining the streets of the city and lots of entertainment, it promises to be a great day out.
2nd September – Gloucester Day
An annual celebration, marking the anniversary of the Siege of Gloucester. Parades at 11am and 2pm, as well as stalls and entertainment.
2nd to 17th September – Gloucester History Festival
