For me, the summer months are the perfect opportunity to meet with family and friends to enjoy being outside together.

In Cheltenham, we can look forward to plenty of music and sport to complement our food and drink offering and green open spaces, which always seem to provide a different kind of buzz at this time of year.

A date in the diary that I always look forward to during the summertime is No Child Left Behind’s ‘Party in the Park’.

No Child Left Behind (NCLB) is a local project that aims to help all of our young people to thrive, and they do great work in our community.

A vibrant celebration for families with lots of free activities

On Wednesday 6th August, Pittville Park hosts a vibrant celebration where families will enjoy a day of entertainment with free activities run by community organisations, as well as music, dance and theatre from local children on our Main Stage, all centred on this year’s theme of ‘Youth Culture’.

Split into four zones across the park and the Prince of Wales Stadium, you will find different activities in each area including inflatables, children’s races, music, creative arts and even the chance to try your hand at circus skills. The entertainment and activities are all free of charge and tailored to all age groups from little ones to older teenagers.

A brilliant, friendly atmosphere

Last year, more than one thousand families enjoyed the NCLB Party in the Park, and it was easy to see why, with residents and visitors alike, enjoying a brilliant, friendly atmosphere which wouldn’t have been possible without a team of dedicated (and amazing) volunteers.

There is a planned ‘quiet hour’ from 10am for those who may find the main event overwhelming, then activities until 4pm, and performances on stage ending at 7pm. I hope to see you there!
