How would you spend yours?

We all dream of good things happening to us and winning big on the lottery is often one of them. But do you ever think hard about what you would do with yours if you were to be so lucky?

Around 400 people in Britain become millionaires every year through either the National Lottery or Euromillions. Some win even bigger, of course.

Now, these are life-changing sums, so we’ll take it for granted that you would invest sufficient to make sure you enjoyed the rest of your life in style, that you would take care of your loved ones, and that you would probably support your favourite charities. No, it’s not that which interests me, it is the things you would buy to enjoy yourself that would be described as ‘fun’.

Travelling would be high on the agenda

Holiday homes are an obvious choice, or maybe a motorhome so that you could go almost wherever you wish. A yacht on which to sail around the world or perhaps simply spend all your time and money holidaying. Travelling would surely be high on most agendas.

How about a car or several of them in which to enjoy the open road? I’m not really a motoring enthusiast, so it wouldn’t be on my list, but I know many people who are. I think I’d be more likely to invest in racehorses and dream of that Cheltenham Gold Cup Winner!

Those of you who are into fashion might create a wardrobe full of designer clothes, accessories and jewellery.

There is already a long list of true stories of ‘crazy’ purchases, from setting up a fireworks factory, through building a race track in your back garden, to buying land on Mars and the Moon and many more.

Me, I would probably head off on a no-expense-spared trip to the Super Bowl. If you’re lucky enough to be a winner, spend it wisely, but don’t forget to have some fun whilst you’re at it.
