These four-ingredient oaty cookies are a perfectly simple yet wholesome snack for toddlers and young children. Made with naturally sweet banana and carrot, creamy peanut butter, and hearty oats, they’re soft, nutritious, and free from refined sugar. Whether you serve them at snack time or pack them into lunchboxes, these easy cookies come together in minutes and are ideal for growing appetites.

Suitable from 10-12 months old depending on your baby’s weaning development.

The ingredients listed will make a batch of 16-18 cookies. You can store them in an air-tight container for a couple of days, or in the fridge for five days. If you don’t think you’ll get through them that quickly, just pop the rest in the freezer and consume within three months. Make sure you defrost the cookies thoroughly before eating.

Ingredients:
3 large ripe bananas
1 large carrot
2 tbsp peanut butter (around 50g)
200g oats

Alternatives & extras
Swap the peanut butter for your favourite nut butter
Add a sprinkle of chia seeds for extra nutrition and texture

Method:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 180°C fan.

2. Mash the bananas in a mixing bowl.

3. Peel the carrot then grate it into the bowl.

4. Add the peanut butter and oats, then mix well until all the ingredients have combined.

5. Put a sheet of greaseproof paper on a baking tray, then divide the mixture into golf ball sized portions. Roll them into neat balls then squash slightly when you put them on the tray.

6. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the cookies start to turn golden brown and a little crisp to the touch.
