Viva Andrada O’Flynn is a woman of many talents.
Born in the Philippines, she has worked as a journalist, artist, entrepreneur, event organiser and chef over the years.
“I went to London in 2014 to further my studies as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu,” she said.
“I attended a cooking class and there I met my future husband John. After a year of us flying to visit each other and keeping in touch online, we got married in the Philippines.”
Since moving to the UK three years ago, Viva has combined her skills to start her own business, Love Viva Cakes and Crafts.
She continued: “I started Love Viva Cakes and Crafts two years ago when I attended Angela De Souza’s Ultimate Business Course workshop with Betaris Training.”
“I’ve always loved baking since my grandma asked me to help her out in her kitchen when I was five years old. The wafting aroma of freshly baked homemade goods transports me back to my childhood years and I’m filled with love. Whenever I bake, I listen to love songs, so my secret recipe – which isn’t so secret anymore – is love.”
Viva will be holding a FUNtastic Fair at Gloucester Guildhall on Friday 25th October from 11.30am to 3.30pm, and a Christmas FUNtastic Fair at Gloucestershire Resource Centre on Saturday 9th November from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
“Here in the UK, I’m also dabbling into events,” she said. “There will be delicious cakes, lovely handmade crafts, gifts and lots of shopping for everyone. It’s free entry.
“Cake is a symbol of joy, celebration, belonging, friendship and love. You eat cake to enjoy life.
“So next time you’re having a special occasion, do add cake to your menu and indulge. I can help you with your cake needs. I make vegan, gluten free cakes as well. I also make handmade gifts that you could share with the people you love.”
This is set to be the first of a number of events Viva has in store as she continues to grow and develop her business.
Viva added: “It can be tough on the business journey from starting it and continuing it from day to day. I keep persevering, taking one step at a time. I have a long way to go to reach my goals, but it feels good that whenever I attend networking events in Gloucestershire, I feel connected and not alone in my business journey.”
