Singer Laura Davis is earning a great reputation for her performances and with over a decade of experience behind her she says her hunger for success remains as strong now as when she first started singing.
The Cotswolds-based singer has become known for her strong vocal performances across venues in Gloucestershire. She said: “I’ve been singing in different capacities for over a decade and for three years I was the lead singer of the band Silverstar, we had some great times together, but when that came to an end, people would often ask where they could hear me sing and that gave me real belief in myself to carry on as a solo artist. Singing is what I love best. There’s no better feeling than getting on stage and performing in front of a crowd.
“Although country music is my major passion and that’s what makes me happiest. I have a varied repertoire which covers many genres. Singing party classics is always enjoyable as I love seeing people up on the dance-floor having a good time”.
Laura is frequently asked to sing at parties and weddings, something she says fills her with a great sense of pride. She continued: “To be asked to sing at a wedding is an enormous privilege, very humbling. One of my favourite wedding performances came off the back of a performance I did at a local beer festival. I was approached by the bride to be, who came up to me and insisted that I sang at her wedding.
“It’s an awesome feeling when someone puts that much faith in you, I was really touched. I’ve already been booked for a wedding in 2020 where I will be singing during the ceremony, which is going to be quite special.”
With over ten years of experience behind her Laura is firmly focused on her future solo career, however she does enjoy reminiscing. She continued: “One of my favourite performances came at the Gloucester Quays Food Festival where Silverstar headlined the event. I was singing on a large stage, in front of hundreds of people, I felt like a star!"Any performer will tell you that to get the opportunity to play in front of a big crowd, and to see people singing along and enjoying themselves is such an amazing feeling. Another highlight of my career so far, is gaining a residency slot at The Royal George Hotel in Birdlip.
“I’m definitely an ambitious person, and singing is what I love doing. I want to carry on performing for years to come at many different events, in lots of different venues across the country. I’m excited for what the future holds”.For more information on Laura, including upcoming performances and videos of her singing, visit www.lauradavisofficial.com
