Gloucester Music Society’s winter season

Our winter season opens on September 22nd with Lumas Winds, who bring us Mozart, Nielsen, Mathias and more. On October 27th, Rupert Marshall-Luck (violin) and Duncan Honeybourne (piano) play pieces by Bliss, Gurney, Howells and Whettam. Seasonal music comes from vocal ensemble Octavo on November 24th. Tickets £20 and concessions. Six-ticket series £100. Concerts take place on Sunday afternoons at 3pm at the Ivor Gurney Hall, Pitt Street, GL1 2BH. Enter by the red pillar box. Cirencester History Festival

A new history festival is coming to Cirencester this October half term. Enjoy local, national and global history, with talks by Jonathan Dimbleby, Natalie Haynes, Rev. Richard Coles, Dr. Janina Ramirez and Ronald Hutton. Family events include crafting, workshops, storytelling, cookery classes, and dressing up – all with a historical twist!
