Frampton United took closer order at the top of the County League with a 4-0 win over Ruardean Hill Rangers on Saturday.

They moved into second spot and are now just three points behind Wick, who were involved in a GFA Challenge Trophy game.

Frampton have a game in hand on the leaders and their goal difference is also better.

They started brightly against Rangers with Nathan Dennis having an effort cleared off the line early on while Fraser Wilson saw his long-range shot pushed around a post.

They opened the scoring five minutes into the second half when Fin Blythe hit a 25-yard shot that flew into the top corner.

Rangers had a great chance to level from the penalty spot but keeper Aaron Taylor brought off a great save to deny Luke Johnson.

Frampton got a second when Ryan Ford was brought down and Ryan Vincent scored from the spot. On 72 minutes Stuart Maule made a defence-splitting pass for Ryan Vincent to make it 3-0 and Nathan Dennis completed the scoring when he scrambled the ball home from a free-kick.

In-form Hardwicke were too strong for struggling Patchway Town as they returned home with a 6-2 win.

Joe Dolby gave the home side an early lead but it got tougher for them in the 25th minute when Dan Cockram was dismissed.

Hardwicke levelled in the 46th minute when Kieran Squires scrambled the ball over the line and nine minutes later they were ahead when Tobie Webb turned in a cross.

Five minutes later Will Matthews broke clear to make it 3-1 and then on 65 minutes Will Higgins turned in the fourth.

Patchway got a second when Lewis Toop netted from a free-kick just outside the box but the pressure from Hardwicke was relentless and Will Matthews netted his second before James Ratcliffe scored number six in time added on.

Gala Wilton had to come from behind twice to salvage a point against visitors Quedgeley Wanderers in a 2-2 draw.

The home started well and Ryan Dobbins had a good early chance before the visitors went ahead with a penalty.

Josh Wilson was brought down by Gala keeper Lewis Skyers and Louis Peyton made no mistake from the spot.

Gala were level just before the hour mark following a great move down the right which ended with Brad Loveridge sending the ball into the near post and Ryan Dobbins neatly turning the ball past keeper Nathan Charnock.

Wanderers were back in front when Josh Wilson put in a fine cross for Nathan Payne to drive past Skyers.

They almost gat a third when Louis Peyton struck an upright but it was Gala who got the fourth goal of the game to earn a point when Martin Smith headed home after Charnock had made a good save from Dobbins.

Wanderers went down to 10 men right at the end when Dorian Colling was sent off.

Other result: Little Stoke 4 Hanham Ath 0.
