Windyridge Rovers are through to the third round of the GFA Intermediate County Cup North after an impressive 3-2 win over St Paul’s United.

Both teams play in Division Two of the Cheltenham League but with Rovers able to call on a number of experienced heads in their squad including Wes Sharpe, Ron Joynes, Dave Keylock and Terry Gardiner they managed to go through in a thriller.

Gala Wilton Reserves hosted Smiths Barometrics Athletic Reserves in the same competition and a single goal was enough to send them into the next round.

Brockworth Albion Reserves eased into the next round with a 6-1 defeat of Barnwood United Reserves but Fintan went down 6-0 at Longford Reserves.

A number of games had to be postponed because of the weather but AFC Renegades were certainly pleased that their GFA Junior County Cup North match was able to go ahead because they won 4-2 at Bream Amateurs.

Southside Star are also through in the same competition after winning at Mushet and Coalway in a thriller. The match ended 6-6 and Southside went through after winning the penalty shootout 7-6.

In-form FC Lakeside Reserves faced Cashes Green in the GFA Minor County Cup North and continued their impressive start to the season with a 3-1 win.

There was just one scheduled game in Division One of the Cheltenham League and Shurdington Rovers maintained their unbeaten start to the league campaign with an impressive 4-1 win at Malvern Vale.

There was also just the one game in Division Three with Smiths Barometrics Athletic 3rds defeating Falcon Reserves 3-0.

And there were plenty of goals in the Division Four clash at Woodmancote United with most of them scored by the home side as they defeated Andoversford 3rds 6-2.

There were also five goals at Fintan Reserves with the home side losing out by one to AFC Cheltenham in the Cheltenham League’s Minor Charities Cup.

Cheltenham Civil Service III travelled to Tewkesbury Town Reserves in the same competition and three second-half goals for the home side saw them progress to the next round courtesy of a 4-3 win.
