‘Snog the Dog’ are one of Cheltenham’s most popular local bands, with a loyal fanbase throughout the county.

Since releasing their latest EP last summer, the group have been gigging around the country as well as writing new material.

“After preparing songs to record for a new album, we have taken five minutes out to move houses and focus on our families,” said lead singer and guitarist Rich Howie.

The band is made up of Rich, Andee Paddock (bass guitar) and Nick Harman (drums), and they will be performing this week on Good Friday at 2 Pigs in Cheltenham.

The guys say the popular alternative venue has been crucial to the band over the years.

“Nothing is more important than family,” added Andee. “2 Pigs is part of our family, we all grew up going to gigs and nights out there.

“It’s part of the bands underlying fabric and has helped droves of our friends to play music live in front of great audiences. We’re so lucky to still have venues in the area allowing local bands to showcase their talents.

“Friday night will be a celebration of this, as we will be bringing along Lion Island Media to film Snog the Dog, and will be releasing it later in the year as a feature film on various platforms, with high quality video and audio.”

The film will be a chance for anyone not at the gig to experience Snog the Dog first hand.

“It will be great to capture the energy and excitement of a live performance on film, an aspect of music we are all very much in love with,” continued Rich.

“Our sound is an eclectic mix of grunge, punk, funk and metal. All our songs have a different, unique feel and groove; there’s something for every mood. A journey through our life experiences, turned musical sagas.

“On the bill will also be our good friends Baron Greenback and Burden of the Noose – two bands that blow us away every time we get to see them. We’re bringing different styles together to make a great night for local fans, while bringing new friends along.”
